The Smith Residence

I managed to spend a week with my cousin Royston, his wife Carmel, and their children, Shannon and Dylan. They live in Victoria, near Stanley Township, not far from historic Beechworth, steeped in Kelly Gang history.

It was lovely to see them all again - the last time being when I was here five years ago. They live in a beautiful part of the world, and I hope to visit them again next time I'm over here.

Royston and Carmel are both active in the voluteer fire service, and last year helped to fight the huge fires that went through much of north east Victoria. Much damage was still eident in the surrounding woods, although the undergrowth has grown back a lot since then. They were successful in saving the township, and only one home was lost in the fire.

It has been wonderful to view such beautiful photos of stunning scenery, especially as we have heard from the Smith's about their land and the devastation of last years fires. Nature is surely wonderful and congratulations to Sabena for creating a delightful site.
