The town of Ninh Binh is 95km south of Hanoi. I caught the overnight train here from Hue, and managed to get a surprising amount of sleep on my hard sleeper (it wasn't hard at all, but had a thin-but-firm matress on it - most comfortable bed I've been on in a while!).
I arrived around six, found a hotel, and then went off on the back of a motorbike to nearby Tam Coc. Here I was rowed along the river in a small boat, passing through the three caves the place is named after (tam meaning three, and coc meaning caves).
I wish I had longer to spend here, but I have to leave the country in six days, so I'm off to Hanoi in the morning.
Some of my photos are now available to buy in a variety of sizes and finishes, or as digital files, at Serenity Photography.
