Playing the Gourd

This interesting man was an elder at the Lat minority village near Dalat. He played this unusual instrument for me, and then sang "Ode to Joy" in French. It's my favourite classical piece, so I was very pleased.

Hello Serena, what a lovely Foto! The instrument is also known to the Hmong people, where they call it "M'buot", it is a mouthorgan analogue to the Lao "Khen".
