The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers did a testing of the equipment and manpower used to open the locks of the Spillway this morning. Through the opening made as they lifted out the pine needles you can see the manufacturing plant located across the River.
The swollen River rushed into the Spillway with a magnificent sound as if to say to the bystanders "here I am". It is siphoning off at 250 cfs--enough power to run a few generating plants and save us some money.
