Excitement Before Commencement Ceremonies

All things considered and all that occurred in the past eight months, this is a remarkable event.
Many of the girls in this photo lost their homes and all that they possessed to Katrina's flood waters.
It is a New Orleans Ursuline tradition that the girls wear white gowns and carry a dozen of red roses for their graduation ceremony.
The Baccalaureate ceremonies were held earlier in the day at a Mass in the chapel. The girls wore graduation caps and gowns for the Mass.

I'm fascinated that they all are wearing white!

They are carrying this off with great decorum then and they are to be admired. They all look lovely.
