I wonder where all the people who once lived here spent Thanksgiving. This popular old New Orleans neighborhood looks like this for miles and miles.
We had a meeting of all the garden clubs of New Orleans and Jefferson Parish to see how we could help beautify the City following Katrina. The Lakeview Botany Guild (whose members come from this neighborhood) has 87 members. Eighty-five of the members lost their houses in this area. Anyone who thinks it is business as usual in New Orleans has not been in the neighborhoods that were flooded. I wonder where all the people have gone; there is no one in sight, block after block after block. Very sad.
