Joe Pye Weed

Montz, Louisiana

I'm all stormed out. I could have posted a photo of the American flag and the French fleur-de-lis flag standing straight out on the Firehouse pole all tattered and torn, or my huge live oak in my front yard in Metairie trying to uproot itself and fall over. I spent the afternoon at the Metairie house mopping germy mud out of the den; the Abbot dropped in and told me many funny stories and we laughed a lot. On the way back to Montz I saw the Joe Pye blooming in a ditch. I used to bring my first grade teacher bouquets of these.

So nice to find a little spot of beauty that survives no matter what. You can sort of anchor yourself to it in this sea of chaos and destruction. An encouraging picture.

And they attract butterfiles. Nice colorful flowers to brighten your day. It did mine.

I agree that a touch of laughter is the best medicine for you right now, Coleen. This is a pretty change too.

I'm glad the Joe Pye Weed could bring back pleasant memories of your childhood during this awful time. Keep the laughter flowing.

This is beautiful, Coleen. And thank God for the Abbot who could bring all that laughter with him. You needed it and we know laughter is good for the soul and the body!
