Stoking the Stacks

Montz, Louisiana

Twilight on the Mississippi River and industry cranking up again following the shutdowns of Hurricane Katrina. Do forgive me for posting so many river shots. It seems to be my therapy these days.

I never thought I'd think smoke-belching refineries were comforting, but it's nice to see things getting back to normal. I love your river pictures. Up here that river is about the width of one of those ships. It's fun to see the comparison.

Please don't ask for forgiveness, Colleen. Your river shots are lovely to look at and seem to give you a lot of pleasure a the photographer, too. Keep them coming!

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.
I am haunted by waters.
(from "A River Runs Through It" by Norman Maclean)

I, too, find comfort in rivers.... take care, Coleen,

It is terrific to see all that renewed industrial activity.
