I am continuing the story of the swans that I started a while back. The photo is not the best because of the water's light, but...there is a toss-up at http://www.pbase.com/image/39997375.
They have made a nest on Bird Island away from people. In this photo the male is sitting on the nest (it's his turn). I watched them for several hours today. She added more sticks to the nest while he slept (sounds familiar) and kept guard at the water's edge for some of the time.
The three pairs of swans at the Park are all nesting now, but I haven't found the other two nests yet. Maybe tomorrow.
