Snow Unprecedented

Metairie, Louisiana USA

Louisiana had a snow blizzard yesterday, something unseen in at least 100 years. In Metairie we had 10 inches according to the Weather Service. In Montz, LA, at Perilloux Place there was between 9 and 11 inches of snow. It began around 7:30 a.m. and did not stop snowing and blowing until almost 5 p.m. We are not accustomed to snow and every major highway in Louisiana is shut down. All of this will not thaw until Friday morning. Dangerous conditions for people who will not heed warnings or who try to walk on frozen snow. THIS is a photo taken from my window in Metairie. I left the Christmas lights on the tree until Ash Wednesday in memory of my husband, who loved Christmas and the lights, so it makes a nice spot of joy amidst the snow. Greetings from frozen Louisiana.

WOW Coleen, we have had about an inch and a half so far this season (down by about a foot), I hope it's all gone by now, take care and stay safe.

Wow! That's a lot of snow for your area. A beautiful scene though not unlike typical winter scenes for our area.

Love the image. You actually have more snow on the ground than I do. Stay warm and safe.
