With the bays opened only in the middle of the Spillway structure, this area nearest Montz is slowly seeing the water depth decline. The billions of tons of water deposited silt as it speeded to Lake Pontchartrain. However, these oaks have survived many openings of the Spillway and hopefully, they will survive this one.
It's been quite a journey through this gallery. I am glad to see the water is receding and I am sure the oaks will survive as they have for many years. They are lovely trees.
