The Power of Lightning

Bonnet Carre' Spillway, Louisiana

I will know in six weeks if the lightning strike killed this live oak or just maimed it. If it killed it, in six weeks all the leaves will be brown.

That's a good hit but I've seen trees around here take a hit like this and they're still here today! Let's hope it's OK.

The reason not to seek shelter under a tree during a thunderstorm, at least not the tallest tree. Let's see this again in 6 or so weeks.
