A few months after Katrina, my daughter and I drove by this house and the owner was laboriously cleaning the gardens. We stopped and asked her if we could help but she said the work was therapy for her.
When I spoke to her the day I took this photo she was gardening with her dog, a Katrina rescue dog that is part Labrador and part Great Dane. The two are very grateful to have each other.
