Ewa railroad tracks

A railroad once circled the west end of Oahu carrying both agricultutal products (sugar cane and pineapples) and passengers.
The railroad actually went around Kaena Point all the way to Waialua on the North Shore.
It was the only means of transportation for many of the plantation workers in Waipahu, Nanakuli, Makaha, Makua, and Yokohama.
During severe winter storms the Makaha portion of the line needed constant repair due to the erosion from the waves.
