This painting is a copy of David Martin's portrait of 1776 which originally hung
here in the Library. It shows Lord Mansfield wearing the official robes of an
Earl - complete with ermine fur and coronet. The original is now with the Mansfield
family at Scone Palace in Scotland. (Kenwood House)
