Odysseo in Blue

Vancouver, BC

The first view David and I had of this gigantic tent... a bit disappointing as it was all walled off (of course). Reminiscent of a medieval jousting tent, or even an alien landing site. My version cropped quite a bit as it was taken with my 50 lens. I haven't missed a big zoom very many times…but this was one.

50mm
6.00s; F16; ISO 160 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

How did I ever miss this one? I love it! Maybe not so bad that you didn't use a big telephoto...the image is tack sharp and you got great starlight beams! Nice processing too, fitting of the wintery light.

WOW x infinity! This is so cool. The star bursts, the moon, the intense and beautiful B&W all combine with the unusual, other worldly shape of the building to create something genuinely amazing and unique. ~VVV~

It is a fantastic image, Carol. I told David that his shot, the top of the tents look like faces with sun glasses. Superb job capturing the moon the way that you did. Excellent work here. V.

Wonderfully captured, Carol. The small aperture really worked magic here. Nice capture of the earthshine on the Moon as well. V

Fantastic shot. This is easily one of your best. Great exposure and tones and so nice with the silhouettes in front of the tent. The 50 may not have had the reach, but it made up for it in clarity. I find the shorter focal lenses are better for night photography. "V"

what a radiant image...your 50mm seems ideal for the wide view though, and a lot sharper than my telephoto...love the luminance from the longer exposure, and the starbursts are spectacular...knockout shot Carol...BV

Wow, this is fantastic Carol...just to think at this moment I was missing out waiting at the coffee shop...oh well
the rest of the evening was grand. The starburst from the lights and the round outline of the moon is fantastic! ~V~
