Lovely image of these noble sculptures. The shimmering light on the water and the ominous clouds provide an interesting backdrop. Voted

The meaning of totem poles in the Haida culture are generally about clan lineages or notable events in the clan's history. Kind of a marker that says "Joe and his family live here." You could say that these totems are watching for visitors running from the approaching storm. They announce that "shelter" can be found here.
