A magical place for photography!!

The people, the architecture, and the MOUNTAINS make Nepal
the perfect vacation spot for photographers.

Our goal of the trip was the Annapurna Base Camp.
My last trip to Nepal was back in the film days in 1996.
The base camp at that time was snowed in, and we couldn't reach it.
This year, however, the weather was perfect, but cold...
We reached the base camp. It was a tough trek, but we did it.

I took over 1700 photos on the trip, and have selected a few for this gallery.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Trust your eyes Scotty. If you like it, then it must be good. I like it. I like the explosion of colours. Personally though, I would go with a simple border as the pictures are already so colourful. But other than that, great work my friend! V

Thanks for all your comments....in reference to Jean-Luc's comment about photos appearing to be over "photoshopped", he is probably referring to the HDR (High Dynamic Range) photos. The photos that appear to be almost "cartoon" like or "painting" like are photos merged to HDR in Photoshop, and then tone mapped in Photomatix. The look is a bit surreal, but I like it....some don't like the look, and that is fine...it is the new rage in digital photography these days, and I am still experimenting with it. Cheers, Scotty

The content, subjects, people colours and post-processing sets this wonderful collection in the league of its own ! I wish I could comment on every gingle image in this splendid gallery, but enough said that you showed Nepal in the way I never saw it before, and simply charmed me with your artwork...
