Our pond's resident snapping turtle, Goliath, makes his first appearance this spring.
It doesn't look like it but this dude weighs about 8 lbs.

Yes, snappers hibernate underwater in the winter. Thanks for commenting and yes, the image is a bit soft.

Do turtles hibernate? Did you see him any this past Winter? You're really pushing the optics with 400mm x 1.6 x 2 x 1.4 = 1792 mm!! I'm sure the slightly soft focu is the result.
