This a tree that I have walked past a thousand times on the way down to the Milwaukee River to go fishing. This tree is a few yards away from where two whooping cranes scared the crap out of me. They did so by coming into my world out of no where. I had lived in WI for 17 years and never had I seen or heard a crane in the wild (actually my neighborhood). Their call is loud and sounds remarkably similar to a terradactyl. Only after I creaped up the hill to face my certain death did I realize I was hearing the conversation of a couple cranes. Quite a relief.
