The beautiful and unusual gardens at Villandry turned out to be my (unexpected) favorite stop in the Loire Valley. It rained almost non-stop during the duration of my visit to the Loire, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the wonderment this garden provides. I'd never seen such beautiful cabbages, lettuce, pear trees, working side by side with rose and flower beds. It was all simply stunning.
