Common Green Darner, malformed wings

Know that Dragonflies are harmless, they won't hurt you; to the contrary they provide valuable pest control services. This is a Common Green Darner (Anax junius). It's wings did not properly fill with blood after it emerged from it's larval casing or "exuvia." Not only could I not help but feel sorry for it, but it's the most beautiful specimen of the species I've seen.. probably becuase it was so "fresh," which means newly emerged and without wear to the body. Newly emerged dragonflies are often drab, until they dry and warm, which this one had.
