The Last Shot

Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman view map

Our first morning in the Cayman islands, we took a walk down the beach to shoot some photos. The tides have been MUCH higher than normal due to Hurricane Rina affecting weather in the general area. It was impossible to walk down the beach without the tide at least coming to your ankles on occasion.
Shortly after I took this shot, I had my back turned to the ocean when a big wave came in and caught me unprepared. My camera took a drenching.
I immediately headed back to the hotel room and cleaned off the sand particles and wiped down the casing with a clean, damp cloth. Alas, my camera has been non-functional since.
This may very well be my final shot ever with my A100.

Great shot. And I agree, it's a great way to go out. Just sorry you had to learn the lesson about never turning your back on the ocean this way.

Sorry to hear about the camera...maybe a few days of warm dry air may help it!

Fantastic shot though!
