My car battery died today. I went outside this afternoon to head home from work and all I got when I turned the key was *click-click-click*. It happens. Especially when the battery is a few years old and it's the 11th consecutive day of 100°F+ (38°C) temperatures. Fortunately, I keep jumper cables handy in the car. A coworker gave me a jump start, I drove home, pulled out the old battery, ran to the store in the other car, and got a replacement. Came home, put it in, and we're good to go. An easy fix. Could have been much worse if it had died on me or the wife at a much less convenient time and place.
