Puget Sound Whale Watching with the S602z

We took the Chilkat Express out of Edmonds, WA, for a half day cruise. We headed north through the San Juan Islands, to a point where there were bits of Canada just to our West. This was a fast trip, the ship having some sort of hydrofoil arrangement underneath that lifts it up to reduce drag. 35, 40 knots, they said.

These were taken with my old Fujifilm S602z. I touched them up as best I could, with Lightroom. Yeah, my Canon setup would have done better.

Anyway, the whales were just hanging around, their mid day rest period, the naturalist said. No dramatic jumps, tails sticking out of the water, or whatever.
