On 3/24/08 at 10:47 p.m. the South River Fire Department responded to a working house fire at 7 Milton Avenue. The fire is believed to have started in the ground-floor rear bedroom.
The 60 year-old homeowner injured his foot while escaping the burning building and his wife and teenage son escaped unharmed. The fire which is not considered suspicious destroyed the home making it uninhabitable.
