A "Dish TV" van crashed into a pole and came to rest on a used car in front of Sheldon Motors on Route 18 northbound in East Brunswick. The highway was closed down in both directions for several hours until Public Service Electric & Gas could shut down power and remove wires hanging across the roadway. The driver escaped injury.
