Chateau Chaumont was built in the 10th century, but destroyed and rebuilt by Louis XI in the 15th century. Later, Catherine de Medici buys it in 1560 to force Diana de Poitier to trade Chenonceau for it. Diana however never moved in. The castle, which I found to be a very 'boyish' castle, is now owned by the state.
