This is Rufford Old Hall, just outside Southport. This part of the building dates back to the Tudor period, having been built around 1430. This section is built using wooden pegs to locate and hold the wooden beams, there isn't a metal nail in the whole construction. Some of these pictures show this construction method a little more clearly.
Comments are always welcome, I appreciate the feedback. Thanks.
Dear Mr Whitehead, I am doing some research for a MA in art history for the open university. I would like to send one or two of your pictures to the tutor with my essay. (just a small project) Can I have permission to reproduce a small picture. The photography is excellent.
