This building is in Liverpool city centre and is a great example of classic art deco design. The main statue, at the bottom of the picture, is presumably an airman. He is seen wearing a flying helmet and goggles, his arms at his sides blending into a generic image representing speed and an almost 'rocketman' feel. He sits over the doorway and the whole building has art deco patterns and features on it, the flight theme being revisited at the top of the columns on the upper section, with stylised birds (I think).
I intend to produce a gallery on the architecture of Liverpool, once I have had the chance to build up a few more shots, there will be further images of this building to be seen there.
All comments will be of great interest. Thanks.
