To me NGC1499 looks more like a squid than a map of California... Anyway the site was very pleasantly dark at Mag 21.6/sq arc-sec and the high altitude kept the temperature at a nice 16 deg C at midnight, compared to the 41 deg C that afternoon at the nearest town, Ibra, some 70+km away. This was my first night in the boonies testing the viability of very light-weight astrophotography without heavy batteries, no laptop, no guiding; just the Kenko Skymemo Mount running on 4 C-cells and the camera on its internal battery. Including its dedicated tripod, polar finder scope and polar alignment head, the Skymemo weighs in at under 10kg. For other stuff peruse my primary website: http://www.samirkharusi.net/index.html
