Crater Tycho. If this photo cannot convince you that the craters on the Moon were formed by impacts of falling bodies, nothing will ;-) C8 at f/20, SBIG 237 CCD. Multi images composited to improve sharpness. The rays emanating from Tycho are most visible during full Moon, but then you cannot see much of the relief in the Moonscape. When the lighting is very oblique, you can hardly see the rays. This photo was taken at just about the right obliqueness. Craters nicely outlined by the shadows, rays still very visible.
