I recently found this image from 1995.
It reminded me of how fun photography was
for me back then, before the explosion of
the internet, photo forums, and posting.
I kinda miss those days where I would stick in
a roll of film and just shoot! Using only modest
equipment, and shooting not for any other reason
than for pure enjoyment of seeing the pictures when
they were developed. Not for posting, not for selling,
not for anything else, but for pure pleasure.
It's funny, these days I can shoot so much more,
endlessly, and aimlessly with my digital cameras,
but the 'feel' isn't quite the same. Something's
lost, and I can't quite explain it.
That being said, as much as I love film, I have no intention
of returning to it full-time. The effort it took to clean
up this photo only reinforces that for me. Oh well, here's
to the good ole film days!
