Very interesting (and obviously intentional) use of dark, even black areas to emphasize the face and the hand.
Makes this portrait expressionistic and creative, much more than a simple street capture.

She looks like she was just surprised the by some stranger and we do see a certain fear in her expression..
I love the perspective and the ever present grain in these photos ;)

Very touching. The perspective you've shown symbolizes a long walk through life in the dark. But, as with every line, there is a starting point and an end point, similar to birth and death.

Outstanding image Sam. Love the depth of field and how the benches and rail lead your viewer's eye towards your subject. Love the feeling of motion on her face as she obviously turned towards you as you took the shot. Great black and white toning adds to the mood of the image. Bravo my brother.
