In mid-March 2013 a group of 9 of us took a XC ski trip in Yosemite from Badger Pass out to Glacier Point. The trip was organized by Ross. It's 10.5 miles one way... the trip entailed skiing out to the hut at Glacier Point, spending the night in the hut and skiing back out the next morning. On the way out we took a side trip off the trail up to the submit of Sentinel Dome. We skied a total distance in 2 days of about 22 to 23 miles.
During the winter months, the road between Badger Pass and Glacier Point is not plowed and closed but they do groom it for XC skiing.
Glacier Point overlooks Yosemite Valley with a great view of Half Dome, Tenaya Canyon, Vernal and Nevada Falls. It snowed the night before our start and the evening we spent in the hut. The conditions were perfect... it was an awesome trip!
