The winds were up to 20kts out of the northeast, on our nose, by 2:00AM Saturday. Difficult to motor into so we went up with shortened sail at 4:00AM and started the long sail tacking up-wind towards Harbor Springs. I was on watch from 4:00AM until about 9:00AM. We were near Ludington, MI harbor as I was working my way through the morning fishing fleet when the Badger passed behind us shortly after its 7:00AM departure to Sheboygan, WI. Because of our slow progress to the northeast we headed into Manistee, MI at 5:00PM.
