-CALLING IT KARMA- BY RAIDER CHUCK #23 It all started on the morning of the 23rd of Nov. IM riding into work--not to mention -- running kinda late, everyone has been there IM sure. On the way in the middle of the road there's a few trays of ready to plant flowers. Now, usually IM way to busy to even think of stopping and moving this mess out of way by being a good Samaritan of some sort BUT I DID. As I carried on to work at a my standard pace for the simple fact, Im there now need to rush. Now workday has progress as any other day nothing unusual just basically, keeping it moving. About 3:oo pm Im called into the office of the Sales Director of Coors (CMD)to get asked a very simple question-Sounds like this "HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO GO THE RAIDERS GAME?". Now this is the same guy that was given a few footballs from me that were signed by players at Raiders training camp. My reply was a good ole' Hells Yeah! Everything and anything was pushed way back this weekend considering this was an outing to away AGAIN for me this season. The first initial shock was the Sat. afternoon arrival at the training facility in Alameda were there was fans out (66th Mob-Afro Man, etc.) and supporting the players getting on buses to goto the Airport Along with me. Shocked and stunned for a minute but you'll know Im a Raider baby now grown-up to be a WHAT? getting on the same bus as players and coaches, oh snap!, there's MR. AL DAVIS, off tha'chain there's, Morris Bradshaw, Tom Flores, Tyrone Wheatly Jerry Porter, Rich Gannon tha whole squad. Man you talking about a brother bout to break down and start humming the AUTUMN WIND song, man I was there. Now you know I had to pull all together because Mr. Sales Director forewarn me to the tee do not get besides myself, Its work for them and me I have to represent the company in a real manner. The plane ride was the greatest especially when I got up to go the back of the plane where the players lounge and marinate on good food and get ready for the game ahead of them. Partna dude Im stoked. From the plane to the bus again this time were police escorted to the suites and fed like Kings. Im loving this part of the game Im really feeling like a playa now cant tell me Im not a Raider buddy I rode in with them and staying a the same 'telly Its on. Night life was just that if anyone seen me at the Houston game they will tell its on and popping like Redenbacher corn. Sunday morning was heavy at least my head was at that time but trick that its football plus I need food. So, I make my way downstairs and hit the table in my trusty VV Raiders booster club shirt so it was no question where I go to get me nourishment and feedings about this organization. Plus, I felt like I was really getting ready to play ball the evening, So was Sapp, Reverend Sapp I heard someone call him being how loud he gets talking when he's comfortable. I say he' s was quite ready to play like everyone else on the team READY. Then I take a look outside and Low and behold there's a blizzard going outside and the snow was coming down like crazy, don't trip Im ready as ever-Dont have to get ready when you stay ready. On the elevator on the way down to lobby there I go again in the right place at the right time MR. DAVIS joins me and I say to him "LETS GO 'EM." We were escorted again as if were riding with Pres. Bush to Invesco Stadium which is among the best of stadiums and the inside was covered with white snow and beautiful as ever along with those white Raider jerseys on the field. Those broken down lame fans had a lot to say before and during game time but when it was all said and done the clock read 0:00 the scoreboard highlighted 25-24 the victory dance was one to see. Those water-burros was quieter than Church-house mouses. The loudest man in my vicinity was me screaming at the top of my lungs "Broncos and James Elam SUCK!!!!" how you like that. Check this out, right behind our buses some Raider fans was beating the crap out of some Broncos riding them hard, good stuff maynard. I heard one of the staff members "come on boys, its time to fight." Jokingly me and some others stood up and then realized its colder than a witches ---, so we smashed out of there to Airport and met up with the players and everyone one of them looked good and played hard. As I shook hands with all the players and congratulated them on a good game, especially No. 66 Langston W. who blocked the field goal. I responded with thanks for having me along for the ride which was a chance of a lifetime. Big Play Ray and Ronald Curry talked about how good it felt to get that win, and they knew every fan felt the same way. Speaking of fans, back at the training facility there was the same fans--the 66th Mob @ 3:ooam playing bones waiting on the bus to arrive to shake hands and give thanks for the good game (now that's loyalty). Now Tyrone who was extra loud Saturday sat and chilled out on the plane and bus back to the facility, As we off-loaded the bus I leaned over my seat and asked how you feeling Ty, he said its all right just a Hamstring pull with a little grimace on his face. I reached out and shook his hand and asked if he needed help, he replied Naw, but thanks anyway. I know you can tell I had the time of my life enjoying being a Raider Player this particular weekend. And this you can bet win or lose I will reach back in my mental cabinet and pull out one these moments that keeps me going as a fan of the game and stand tall as a man and scream out GO RAIDERS!
