Afternoon at Ashley Pond

I needed an excuse to go out today and take some test shots using a new
Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS lens. I was particularly interested in the image quality I'd be able to get
using a 1.4x teleconverter, so all the shots in this gallery are at a focal length of 420mm.

I went to Ashley Pond and sat around for about half an hour taking photos --
a couple of ladies came up and brought some food for the ducks, geese and pigeons.
