Cocktail Time

Malibu, CA

I tried some available light work and also “dragging the shutter” the other night at the gala party. Believe it or not, I had never dragged a shutter in my life, so Lynn’s very talented nephew (below) who is a real whiz around cameras gave me some lessons. None of my efforts turned out to my satisfaction. I’ll have to practice some more.

If you drink enough, you'll be dragging the shutter
and the entire camera too!

Beautiful smile and I like the motion. Shaken, not stirred.

Gotta admit -- that's a new term for me. I like this shot it's got energy and action and a beautiful lady. What else does one need?

I knew about the concept of dragging the shutter but had never "heard" of that term until now.

Neil's explaination here is eye-opening, imho. Has helped me understand much better about using ambient and flash and DTS.
