After lunch I posed in front of the Rappahannock River. It is the site of a famous Civil War battle where, due to incompetence by General Ambrose E. Burnside, the Federals had over 12,000 casualties. Burnside was relieved of his command by President Lincoln; however his hair style stays in our lexicon as sideburns!
