My Great-great-Grandfather Moses Baker Morton met his maker at the Bollinger Mill and Covered Bridge during the Civil War after being bushwhacked by Northern “red-legs”. On the other hand, Great-Grandfather Royal T. Reid was part of the Union militia at Cape Girardeau and survived the war.
The mill is in a tiny town called Burfordville, MO that has fallen on hard times as you can see below.
