July 20: Figuring it out

Rancho Bernardo, CA

Like many of us I appreciate the latest technology. I’m excited about the Voice Activated GPS system, the XM Satellite Radio, and the Bluetooth connected cell phone. Now all I have to do is figure out how to operate all these items.

Yes, for you inquiring minds, the laundry is done!

After all the comments yesterday about the clashing colors I have changed shirts. See below.

Canon EOS 5D ,Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
1/320s f/4.0 at 17.0mm iso800 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

I asked in a shop about a bluetooth dongle and they slapped my face

make sure you don't change the GPS voice to a different language by mistake - a friend of mine changed his to Japanese and it took him two hours to work out how to change it back again...

I got a good laugh from this one, Robin. I've figured out the XM satellite radio and love it, and today for the first time (I've had the car six weeks) I used the nav system. It got me where I needed to go, but the voice scared me to death a couple of times!

Geez... I went into the less lucrative end of the counselling business, that's for sure. I'm envious of all your toys.
JW21-Jul-2006 01:15
Robin, don't you know that you read the instructions only when all else has failed? LOL

Sounds like lots of great toys!

Great stuff in that car! I'm sure you'll figure it out in no time.

You will enjoy the satellite radio, especially on long times on the road.

I think GPS in cars is the best thing ever evented. We have driven clear across the state simply because my husband refused to stop and ask directions.

LOL
Excellent Robin

No voice activated camera?

My son argues with his GPS...he knows the back road to home, but it doesn't !!!

Hmmm let me see if I can help you out? First, put on auto focus, then AV mode...and make sure you charge the batteries ;o)

argggh too much technology in a car for my liking!
royalld20-Jul-2006 17:50
Oh man! That is so slick. I like The GPS and Bluetooth technology.
You even have your direction of travel posted in the rearview mirror.
Nice. You'll have it mastered probably before you read this.
Changed shirts? Why didn't I think of that? I thought you would have to paint the car.

Please put car in 'reverse' not 'drive'!
