SW Colorado

Day Two of Seven – Dual Subjects

There will be those among you, when you see this “archived image,” will guffaw so loudly that you might spill something. Yes, this old rigid Padder is posting an older image.

I’m cutting myself some slack because I’m now only 27 days away from completing year two!

This picture of Bandito and Diann overlooking the Black Canyon of the Gunnison was taken last August in the high country of Southwestern Colorado. It captures the kind of scene I had in mind when I started this self-challenge: one with dual points of interest with some kind of tension in the connection.

Of course it was just after this that the weight of Bandito’s huge lens pulled him over the edge into the Canyon and he had to be winched out!

Actually I’m joking about that, but I’m not sure how he was able to keep his balance all that week while packing that heavy glass. ;-)

Hey there! This is really good in duotone - looks nice! I always did like this shot, but nobody ever holds the brolly for me! LOL! Nice work, bud.

P.S. - I went this morning to post up a shot to respond to your challenge, and wouldn't ya know - pbase is out for maintenance! Figures! So we'll have to delay the challenge slightly, huh? I've got some great ones from last nights HS bball game!

This is a superb image, Robin. Handsome subjects of course, but then you have caught a moment with great thought. And after further reflection, you have seen something new in it. The composition and the sepia are just perfect.

there's no fear of him doing a Mary Poppins and flying away with the umbrella holding that lens! heheh

I remember this exact moment...got a heckuva shot out of it, too! Brings back some of the best memories for me--thanks! The sepia works well here.
