January 19: Cooking Lessons

Rancho Bernardo, CA

Wonderful Lynn devoted her afternoon giving me some excellent cooking lessons. Here she is showing me how to slice a cucumber! (Hey, we had to start at a basic level. ;-)

The goals was to broaden my mind regarding different dishes and options. Today the thrust was to learn how to make tasty sauces and dressings to spice up healthy meals. Today we tested the lamb kabob, couscous, salad, and pita bread with humus. (See below)

Good on ya, Robin! Cooking is great fun when you've taken care to get fresh ingredients, and have a glass of red wine to hand for inspiration. (or in my case to cover up the end result!)

Cooking is fun -- and even more fun when you're cooking for someone else. Good shots, Robin.

I too could do with some lessons. I never cook... unless Jeremy is ill, in which case, the thought of my cooking sure helps his health improve quickly.

I do not cook or do windows :^)

You CANNOT go wrong with the Joy of Cooking. It's impossible. I've tried.
Looks like a fun-and educational - day. Good job, Lynn.

s_barbour20-Jan-2006 02:03
Wow...looks like fun Robin, I hope you are enjoying your lessons!

That looks like a whole bunch of unopened jars and bottles over there - the vinegar, spices ... I hope you didn't make her go buy it all and bring it over for you! You better have been chivalrous enough to at least pick the stuff up!

She looks like she's having a great time - and we know you're a difficult student! ;-)
