January 8: The Guts

Rancho Bernardo, CA

Nothing fancy here … just a shot of the interior of my Dell 8400 awaiting major surgery. Those are the offending hard drives near the top.

It is a good thing I have time today to watch the Steelers whip the Bengals.

You have one of those funky door dell cases. Oh well, at least it gets fixed! (Although I find it strange that the Drive's themselves are actually at fault here.)

That computer is clean as a whistle. You can make an entire poodle out of all the fur that has been sucked into the guts of mine over the years

I'm not sure my Nyquil would help but I'll be glad to share.

Having just recovered from a hard drive crash last month...I feel your pain Robin.
Hopefully you will be up to warp speed quite soon.

Not only are you a great photographer, but you are also great for supporting the greatest football team! I enjoyed watching my Steelers whip the Bengals too today :)

I hope it has a speedy recovery.

Ahhhh, poor baby. I feel your pain...went through it myself last September. Hang in there!
royalld08-Jan-2006 22:24
No wonder it is having problems, someone removed all of the dust needed to make contact between circuit boards :-)

Bit too Hitech for me Robin I only uses em.

I do not like this arrangement if there is no blower that blows air trough that spot between the both. If no blower is there they will overheat and fail. This can bring you data loss and corrupted file tables.

Did you get a virus, or what? You didn't have 2 actually fail at the same time, did you? I had my 8400 open the other day, adding another SATA hard drive - but mine wasn't quite as clean as yours, LOL!
markvm08-Jan-2006 18:42
Good luck. Robin . I live about 5 miles from the Bengals stadium...not going to say who I am cheering for...:-)
CJ Burianek08-Jan-2006 18:30
Wow that is the cleanest inside of a computer I've seen in a long time... i opened one on Friday that had a carpet of dust on everything... worst offenders seem to be cat owners - furballs gallore... Hope you get your SATA drives fixed soon...
