March 31: Hooded Hawk

San Diego Wild Animal Park

I took my cousins Joe and Sandra to the Wild Animal Park today which they liked much better than the San Diego Zoo. The weather was perfect, and the animals were fascinating.

This image was captured at the new bird show they are creating. The trainers are still developing the routines with the young birds.

I also quite like a related image of a trainer releasing a *** parrot into flight.

and the next image which a montage sequence the parrot flying arcross from left to right.

Too weird! Looks like some kind of medieval knight bird. You did a wonderful job with the close up.

Grand image Robin.

This is the oddest picture that features a bird I have ever seen in my life, which stretches back many, many decades. Whoa. But a good photo, to be sure!

From the thumb I thought for sure you had found a new entomological life form. A cross between a dragonfly and a bee perhaps. Glad to see it is just a cute little bird in a training exercise!

I don't think Di you meant to hassel about this tassel? Actually there are a passel of tassels in the world. Lots of people hawk their wares. I feel tied up to say more.

Excellent clarity, focus is perfect. But 'splain something to me please...what's with the tassle? Is it decoration? Were there different tassles to choose from when picking out that cap? Is there a tassle designer somewhere who sits around and creates tassles for the tops of birds hats? How much does he make? ;-)

Yikes. From the thumb (and without my glasses and bad light) I thought you'd gone right around the bend and this was an alien SP from you :)
Back to take a little snooze....

Great closeup on this fellow, not something you see every day!

Both really cool shots Robin. This reminds me of the BraveHeart Days!
