November 24: Coaches
San Diego, CA
After yesterday’s PaD several of you asked about my involvement in Coaching. What kind is it, what do we do?
Here are four “coaches” who are great colleagues and wonderful friends:
Clockwise from the top left you may recognize my former business partner Michele Moomaugh. She is a long-time Organization Development Consultant. To her right is Tom Crane well known for his teaching on Coaching Cultures and for his book on Creating Coaching Cultures.
On the bottom right is Julie Schwartz who is a Life Coach and Yoga Instructor , and on the bottom left is Dr. Tom Packard who is a professor of Social Work at SDSU.
Yesterday Julie, Michele, and Tom [P.] and I were planning coaching sessions we will be conducting for high performing managers in Social Work. We will help them understand and act on written and numerical feedback they will receive from their peers, subordinates, and bosses.
Last night I partnered with Tom Crane to teach a class on Creating Coaching Cultures to aspiring coaches at SDSU. Next week while he is in Jamaica I’ll take over the class.
If you check Tom Crane’s link and then Julie’s link you will be a good idea of the range of personal and professional development coaching in which we all get involved.
If you don’t care about the subject, at least know that I am truly blessed to have these four as friends. They enrich my life greatly as well as the others they touch.
