September 7: PaD Progress

My Living Room

Today marks the completion of my 182d Picture A Day effort. One-Half a Year! I’ve enjoyed every minute and am learning a great deal.

Above all, I relish the new friendships found here, the details of your lives that each of you have shared, and the help you have given. So MANY of your images have been inspiring to me.

So thank you fellow PaDers.

I can't tell you how gratified I am to see the living room finally being used to positive purpose! Heh Heh

Ha! Great shot! You SO rock at photoshop. : )
Guest 09-Sep-2004 23:17
Good for you! It gies fast, but gets harder....(yea, i'm a dramam queen, I wouldn't trade the project for anything, but realize there is a place when you have to step back!)

I LOVE this shot though!
Robin Reid09-Sep-2004 04:55
What a great idea Liza. I think I'll adapt that for a future SP!!!
snootydog09-Sep-2004 03:54
Really well done Robin. And it has been a pleasure knowing you as well. Now even though this photo is perfect and you did a great job, I just thought of something that might be interesting... How about taking a photo of yourself and put it in the frame above your head in the far wall as if you are the framed print instead of the native woman?
Dennis Steinauer09-Sep-2004 01:01
What -- this is a faked picture? Wow, that changes *everything*! I'm going to have to rethink my entire worldview....

p.s. - That looks like a Gorman that I should have bought about twenty years ago!

LOL Robin, you did a great job on yours, I didn't do mine as you said you did yours though, I just layered them and erased away, much easier that way. I just lowered the opacitiy of the top layer to see where to erase. I love this, I have about another month to hit my sixth month. You have entertained me more than you know, LOL.

Congratulations Robin!!! And a very fun shot to commemorate the event! I look forward to your photos and stories every day. Keep 'em coming!
Stu08-Sep-2004 13:12
So you figured out how to do it! Nicely done - all three of you!
Cliff08-Sep-2004 07:35
So good Robin and thanks for the instructions.

Hi Robin!! this is great image so creative. With all that energy you have, I`m sure there are at least a dozen of Robins. Congratulations for this time, and thank you a lot for sharing with us and making us to have great time while enjoying your photos.. Go ahead!!!!
Guest 08-Sep-2004 05:05
This is very well done! I just realized that I just past my 6 month mark too! It was the 4th of this month... I was planning on doing some to commemorate that but forgot... Great PS work
Robin Reid08-Sep-2004 04:30
Mark... take a series of 3 - 4 photos at one sitting... obviously moving each time. It helps to be far enough apart in each shot that the body doesn't overlap. Then starting with the base layer, add the other 2 to 3 as layers on top, and trim away (I just used them marquee tool mostly) all the parts of each additional layer that do not include a "body."
If the exposures are balanced (I set mine at manual so exposure wouldn't change) the layers should blend perfectly. If necessary use the pen tool to trim around the body to perfect any overlap (for example my left knee in the image sitting at the left ..I had to trim that a touch plus my hand that is pointing.) Call or write if you want more.

Excellent Robin. I've wanted to do something like this, but can't figure out how. Multiple photos stitched together? I was trying multiple exposures but that didn't work.
jypsee08-Sep-2004 02:46
I see that you're all RC Gorman fans...
Guest 08-Sep-2004 01:58

Congratulations, Robin, on a terrific milestone!! Now you only have to do what you just did all over again. :)- Great PaD to commemorate your achievement!
Larry Ahern08-Sep-2004 00:05

Hi Robin, hi Robin, hi Robin. (Sure glad there's only 3 of you! Great stitching!)
Congrats on reaching your 6 months, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that will be thanking you for your laughter, inspirations, and vision. Looking forward to the next 6+ months.
petesie07-Sep-2004 23:21
Can't wait to see what you do in six months! Six Robins? This is great. I like the praying mantis on the coffee table.
Lou Giroud07-Sep-2004 22:27
I don't say anything, too many people in that room, could be that 2 of them will be angry.
Herb 07-Sep-2004 22:14
I don't know who of you to congratulate. I think I will pick the Robin in the center.
Please apologize to the other 2 guys for me, if I picked the wrong one.
Gary Winters07-Sep-2004 21:54
Congratulations, Robin. You've come a long, long way! I remember in the old days, before you started PaD, when there was only one of you. My, how time has flown! GREAT job on this one...
jude07-Sep-2004 20:52
I love this triplet set..lol. Nicely done. You made me just count on my fingers - and I realized i passed my 6 months up on August 19th.. Damn time flies VERY fast. Congrats to you..

Graham Whitehead07-Sep-2004 19:33
Congrats on the big 182 Robin :-) And such a classy image to celebrate it, beautifully pieced together (or are you a secret triplet?). Here's to the next 182, if they're as inventive as the past ones they should be well worth watching for. Cheers.
RodTO07-Sep-2004 19:21
