The desaturation of the foreground reduces the color clutter of all those signs. Improves the image I think.

Interesting concept, b&w foreground and colour background. Going to buy that lens shortly along with a 24-70.

I have been on that corner some 32 years ago, went down to Ensenada to dive in the gulf with whales. One of the most stunning places in southern California. Unfortunately, industrialisation and mass fishing is giving a hard time to it. On the other side, the Baja is a nice offraod paradise for 4 wheelers and trail-bikes.
