When the clouds are right, sunsets are easy. I sometimes feel like I'm cheating .. doesn't take much to get a good shot. Just focus on the sky, under-expose by 2 stops, process in Photoshop, convert to LAB color to boost colors, return it to RGB, play with curves a bit, boost the blue, reduce to a decent size and upload ;-)
